Thanks Steve, for sending me the link to this wonderful article about a dear online friend. Andy was going to be one of the moderators on our Christian Photographers site in June in order to help those on our site with less photographic skills. I was so looking forward to that.

Jim Lavrakas of "The Alaska Urban Angler" (www.akurbanangler.com) tells me (I believe mistakenly posted on the previous column) that Anchorage's Ship Creek Slam'n Salm'n King Derby will feature a new award: "The Andy Sorensen Sportsmanship Award. It's a fitting way to remember the friendly guy who would ALWAYS take time out of his fishing (even when the fishing was red hot) to help another angler, or just greet someone new on the creek. The award will go to an angler who shows 'a practice of ethical fishing or helpful, selfless conduct towards fellow anglers.' During the derby, the person who most exemplifies Andy’s friendly, helpful spirit will win the trophy and $250 that comes with the award."

Thanks Jim! What a tribute! Andy would hope, as I do, that many will follow his example.
